Fun with FUNdamentals Training- @ Superdome Sports,Waldwick NJ

Tuesday Nights 6-7PM - 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5

Similar to most things, lacrosse skills are learned in stages. If you miss stage one, you will struggle to succeed with stage 2 and beyond. Players can use athleticism and determination to mask their deficiencies and be good players, but only to a certain point. Without a solid foundation of fundamental skills, no lacrosse player can reach their full potential. Our Fun with Fundamentals course is designed to ensure that all players are taught the RIGHT WAY to throw, catch, shoot and handle a stick. Stick handling is one of the most under taught skills in the game of lacrosse, but is also the first and most important step to executing any lacrosse skill. We use a number of proven teaching methods to ensure that all of our participants are learning proper mechanics that will build a more well rounded lacrosse player. While working on fundamentals can be tedious and boring, we have created a curriculum that allows our players to compete with one another while building proper lacrosse mechanics. Using a variety of relay races, contests and other fun activities, our staff builds a competitive environment which ensures that not only are our players getting better, but they are having fun doing it. After all, isn't that the point?

Skills Covered-

2 handed stick handling, 1 handed stick handling, triple threat position, changing hands, passing, catching, shooting on the run, shooting with time and room, inside finishing, ground ball play, Field and Box dodging techniques, defensive footwork, defensive holds/checks and much much more!

Advance Skills Training- @ Superdome Sports, Waldwick NJ

Once players have developed a solid core of fundamental lacrosse skills, they are ready to begin to learn more complex skills as well as increase their decision making abilities. The Brotherhood Lacrosse Advanced Skills Training sessions are designed to enable each player to develop more advanced stick handling, dodging, shooting and defensive skills along with the knowledge of how and when to use them. We combine skill work with live game situations and focus on continuing to develop new skills and create players with a higher lacrosse IQ. These sessions are designed for players who already possess a good fundamental base. Players should be able to throw and catch with both hands and be comfortable handling their sticks while engaged with an opponent. Sharp Shooter Training- @ Superdome Sports, Waldwick NJ

Sharp Shooter training sessions are designed to  focus on the development of effective dodging techniques and shooting skills.  The difference between good and great players is typically as simple as their ability to finish.  We will focus on ways to create shots from any part of the field using creative and distinct dodging techniques as well as teach each player how to increase their accuracy and shot speed around the goal.  Brotherhood Lacrosse coaches will work with players on their ability to shoot on the run, shoot with time and room, as well as how to finish in tight.  Our Sharp Shooter training will equip your son with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to dodge more effectively and shoot with a higher success rate.

Dominant Defense Training- @ Superdome Sports, Waldwick, NJ 

Tuesday Nights 7-8PM - 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5

Dominant Defense Training Sessions are designed to help defenders learn how to maximize their defensive abilities.  Our staff uses next level training techniques to allow the boys to learn how to dictate matchups and limit the options of offensive players.  Our coaches build the fundamentals of their stance, footwork, body positioning, hand placement and most importantly how to use their stick as a tool.  Too many defenders rely on their sticks too much and it gets them into trouble.  We instill the core principles of using their hands and feet first, as well as how to use angle play and stick holds to maximize defensive dominance. These sessions will greatly improve the players effectiveness and confidence to dictate match ups on the defensive side of the ball.

Footwork- Approach, Back Peddle, Drop Step, Shuffle, Recovery Step, Hip Rotations  

Stickwork-   Holds, Checks, Check Tempo, Check Techniques, Ground Balls,  Clearing Skills

Goalie Academy Fall Tune-Up - @ Anvil Performance, Fairlawn, NJ 

Wednesday Nights 6:30-8PM - 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20

The Brotherhood Lacrosse Goalie Academy Fall Tune-Up program gives goalies of all ages an opportunity to learn proper technique, develop hand and foot speed as well as gain confidence in their positional knowledge.  Each session begins with an intense plyametric warm-up, followed by positional technique, goalie specific skillwork, individual games and of course tons of shots! Each 90 minute session will be divided into 30 minutes (in the gym) working on athleticism and explosiveness etc., then 60 minutes (on the field) working on skill and technical instruction.  Each goalie should leave the program with improved mechanics, improved athleticism, and improved confidence in the position.
